Alfred Joseph Bjelke

SPRINGFIELD - Alfred Joseph Bjelke, 90, of Springfield, OH, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Springfield Masonic Community Nursing Home.

Joe was born June 19, 1924, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Alfred E. and Mary (Bell) Bjelke.

He graduated from Wellsville High School in 1942 and from Dennison University in 1948. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Joe was employed for twenty-seven years as a bank examiner for the state of Ohio, before retiring in 1989. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Masonic Lodge #11 in Grandville. Joe attended Riverside Presbyterian Church.

The funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville, with Pastor Duane Hetzer of the church officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
