Ann Beech

WELLSVILLE - Ann Beech, 77, of Wellsville, died Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Northside Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born September 2, 1935, in Wellsville, a daughter of the late Earl Grant and Georgia (McDevitt) Shoub.

Ann was a 1953 graduate of Wellsville High School and retired as a secretary from the Wellsville Public School District after many years of service. She was a member of the Riverside Presbyterian Church where she was the Clerk of Session and sang in the choir. She also baked hundreds of pies with the pie bakers of the church.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jack Beech, whom she married July 24, 1955; two daughters: Elaine DeSellem and her husband James of Salineville, and Jill Stanley and her husband Todd of Geneva, OH; two sons: Andrew Beech and his wife Lynne of Lisbon, and Douglas Beech of Bexley, OH. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Benjamin (Elise) Stanley of Chicago, IL, Grant Hayes of Boardman, Alec Beech of Ravenna, Jacob Beech of Boston, MA, Samuel Beech of Grandville, OH, Michelle Hayes of Kent, Natalie Stanley of Lakewood, OH, and Madison Beech of Bexley, OH.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Colleen Elaine Hayes, and two brothers: William and Walter Shoub.

Friends may call on Sunday, September 1, 2013, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm and again from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

A private family funeral service will take place on Monday with Rev. Duane Hetzer officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
