Austin Joseph Grafton

NORTH PALM BEACH, FL - Austin Joseph Grafton, 90, of North Palm Beach, FL, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Trustbridge Hospice in North Palm Beach.

He was born August 16, 1928, in Hammondsville, the son of the late Frederick and Emma (Maple) Grafton. In addition to his parents, Austin was preceded in death by five sisters: Erla Malia, Mary Grafton, Ada Hudson, Freda Grafton, Gladys Gallagher; and four brothers: Thomas N. "Buzz" Grafton, Taylor F. Grafton, Shannon Grafton, and Willis Grafton.

Austin graduated from Irondale High School in 1947. He was employed for thirty-two years as a heat treater for the former Titanium Metals in Toronto. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in East Liverpool. In his spare time, Austin enjoyed coon hunting and playing baseball.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne (Hall) Grafton, whom he married May 20, 1976; one daughter, Marsha Whitla and her husband, Gary, of Wellsville; and one son, Mark Grafton of Oviedo, FL. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Gary M. Whitla of Wellsville and Kristen (John) Clark of West Warwick, RI; and one great grandchild, Aiden Kristopher Clark.

A private funeral service will be held today at the Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
