Betty Jo Cataldo

GULFPORT - Betty Jo Cataldo, 96, of Gulfport, FL, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at the home of Dennis D. and Rachel Cataldo, where she resided.

She was born May 30, 1922, in Malvern, OH, the daughter of the late William and Hester (Logen) Burwell. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death on January 19, 2011, by her husband, John J. Cataldo, whom she married February 22, 1941, and by a grandson, Justin Cataldo.

Betty attended East Liverpool High School. She was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of the Wellsville Lady Elks Lodge 1040, the Wellsville Arts Club, and the Lady Knights of Columbus in Wellsville. She was Catholic by faith.

Survivors include two daughters: Cathy Stewart of St. Petersburg, FL and Patti Pickering and her husband, Don, of Superior, MT; and four sons: Jack Cataldo and his companion, Shelly Chrislip, of Wellsville, Dennis Cataldo and his wife, Janet, of Gulfport, FL, Jim Cataldo of FL, and Mark Cataldo and his companion, Sharon Gates, of Wellsville. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The Catholic Burial Rite will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Kopp of Holy Trinity Parish officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
