Bonnie Johnston

SALEM - Bonnie Johnston, 88, of Salem, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017, at Essex of Salem.

She was born February 16, 1928, in Houston County, AL, the daughter of the late Hubbard and Rosie (Patterson) Howell. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death on October 9, 1990, by her husband, Norman L. Johnston, whom she married June 2, 1953. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jack Howell.

Bonnie was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Survivors include two daughters: Marilyn Ruble of Salem and Norma Johnston of East Liverpool; one brother: James Howell and his wife, Shirley, of Dothan, AL; and one sister-in-law: Rudine Howell of Dothan, AL. Also surviving are two granddaughters: Heather (Ronald) Frantz and Scarlett Ruble; one grandson: Chad (Ashley) Murray; and three great-grandchildren: Ava, Landon, and Caden.

The funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Highlandtown Cemetery.
