Brian James Shinn

WEIRTON - Brian James Shinn, 40, of Weirton, WV, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 31, 2021, following a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born June 10, 1980, in East Liverpool, the son of Jesse and Hazel (Wright) Shinn of Wellsville.

Brian graduated from Wellsville High School in 1998. He was employed as a bartender for Mountaineer Racetrack and Gaming Resort and was a member of the Culinary Union for Bartenders in Las Vegas, NV. Above all else, Brian was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbi (Curtis) Shinn, whom he married March 17, 2019; three sons: Brian James Shinn, Jr., Xaine Shinn, and Maxwell Shinn, all at home; and four sisters: Debbie Shinn of Ohio, Linda Crawford of Wellsville, Sherry Merriman of Wellsville, and Julie (Emmett) Daniels of Wellsville. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Living Well Church officiating.

Family and friends may call from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville. Face masks are requested to be worn while in the funeral home.
