Carol Sue Young

WELLSVILLE - Carol Sue Young, 65, of Wellsville, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at The Orchards of East Liverpool.

She was born June 9, 1953, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Eugene and Doris Lee (Johnston) Mathes.

Carol graduated from Wellsville High School in 1971. She was employed as a substitute cafeteria worker at Wellsville High School, a clerk at K-Mart, and a laborer at Marsh Bellofram. She was an active member of the Wellsville Alumni Association and enjoyed volunteering her time to campaign for Mayor Nancy Murray.

Survivors include her husband, John Young, whom she married June 29, 1974; one daughter, Amanda Young Monroe and her husband, Jess, of East Liverpool; one son, John Young and his wife, Cassie, of Austintown; one sister, Patricia Empfield of Wellsville; and two brothers: Eugene Mathes of East Liverpool, and Steven Beaver and his wife, Diana, of Aliquippa, PA. Also surviving are three grandchildren: John, Taylor, and Matthew Young.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Living Well Church officiating.

Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
