Catherine Jean "Cathy" Grodhaus

WELLSVILLE - Catherine Jean "Cathy" Grodhaus, 71, of Wellsville, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born December 25, 1947, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Phillip J. and Mary (Straziuso) Prezzia. In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death on January 31, 2016, by her husband, William R. Grodhaus, whom she married January 18, 1969.

Cathy graduated from Wellsville High School in 1965. She was employed for forty-two years as a radiology and ultrasound technician for East Liverpool City Hospital before retiring in 2010. Cathy loved to read and was a volunteer for Friends of the Carnegie Public Library in Wellsville. She was also a constant fixture at her grandsons' sporting events. Cathy was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville and attended the Living Well Church.

Survivors include two sons: Phillip Grodhaus and William Bryan Grodhaus, both of Wellsville; one sister, Roxanne Hall and her husband, Rich, of Wellsville; and three grandsons: Branzen, Will, and Cameren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews including Natalie and Jeff Tice, Nikki and Jim Williams, and Richelle and Ronnie DuMoulin, all of whom were a huge help in taking care of their aunt.

Per Cathy's wishes, family and her close friends are invited to visitation from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

Burial will be in Highlandtown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Cathy's name to: Friends of the Wellsville Carnegie Public Library, 115 9th Street, Wellsville, OH 43968.
