Cathy Sloan

WELLSVILLE - Cathy Sloan, 58, of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born August 22, 1959, in Petersburg, WV, the daughter of the late Eddie and Rosetta (Beckwith) Grandison. In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by three sisters: Debbie Johnson, Crystal Merrit, and Tonya Shawn Grandison.

Cathy was employed for ten years in the security department at Mountaineer Race Track. She was a member of Lee's Chapel AME Church.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Sloan Jr., whom she married June 21, 1986; two sons: Justin (Jolene) Witherall of Withee, WI, and Richard Sloan of Wellsville; one step-son, Walter (Jenny) Sloan III, currently serving his country in Afghanistan; and two sisters: Eddie Page of Washington DC and Sheila Clinestend of Strasburg, VA. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, July 13, 2018, at the Lee's Chapel AME Church, 1325 Center Street in Wellsville, with Rev. Eddie Renfroe of the church officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
