Charles F. Joy, Sr.

WELLSVILLE - Charles F. Joy, Sr., 79, of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at home.

He was born October 28, 1936, in Fly, OH, the son of the late Hildred and Grace (Miller) Joy. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two sisters: Berle Owens and Doris Morton.

Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a crane operator for the former Crucible Steel Mill and was a member of the Horseshoe Club.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Ammon) Joy, whom he married December 19, 1959; one daughter: Pamela Crissman of Wellsville; three sons: Charles Frederick Joy, Jr. of Washington, Robert Joy of East Liverpool, and Thomas Joy of Wellsville; one sister: Linda Beaver of Wellsville; and one brother: Samuel Joy of Glenmoor. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 26, 2015, in the chapel at Spring Hill Cemetery.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
