Charles Lee "Chuckie" Powell

WELLSVILLE - Charles Lee "Chuckie" Powell, 59, of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.

He was born August 15, 1963, in East Liverpool, the son of Sondra (Jones) Powell of East Liverpool and the late Howard Lee Powell, Jr.

Chuckie graduated from Wellsville High School in 1982 and attended Kent State University. He then served his country in the United States Air Force. He was previously employed at American Steel and as a land surveyor. Chuckie loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, and bird watching. When he was in high school, Chuckie was a model for Craig Russell's comic book Siegfried and the Dragon.

In addition to his mother, Chuckie is survived by his wife, Teresa Hawk of Wellsville; one daughter, Cierra Powell of Wellsville; one son, Dakota Powell of Wellsville; one sister, Wendy (Lonnie) Fields of Salineville; and one brother, Stacey (Alice) Powell of Franfort, ME. Also surviving is his granddaughter and side-kick, Shaelynn Renee McConnell-Powell.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville. The Tri-State Burial Group will accord full military honors at 4:00 PM.
