Clayton F. Poynter

EAST LIVERPOOL - Clayton F. Poynter, 57, of East Liverpool, formerly of Wellsville, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at the home of his son, in Boardman, Ohio. He was under the care of Hospice of the Valley.

He was born August 18, 1956, in East Liverpool, a son of the late John and Patricia (Edmundson) Poynter.

Clay was a 1974 graduate of Wellsville High School and served in the U. S. Air Force. He worked in the Electrical Maintenance department for Penn Power.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Sullivan Poynter, in 2004.

Survivors include three sons: Terry Poynter and his wife Amy of Boardman; Eric Poynter and his fiancée Macey Hayes of North Lima; and Dave Poynter and his wife Julie of Liberty Township (Cincinnati), OH.; two sisters: Arden Montgomery of East Liverpool and Renae Montgomery and her husband Don of Wellsville; two brothers: Michael Poynter and Ross Poynter, both of East Liverpool.

Eight grandchildren also survive: Tyler, Caleb, Kayla, Mason, Madison, Natalie, Hailey and Jacob.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, April 9th, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street, Wellsville, with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Living Well Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel United Presbyterian Cemetery, Salineville.

Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service, from 2-3 pm, on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
