WELLSVILLE - Crystal L. (Tranter) Geer, 53, of Wellsville, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, at her home following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born June 27, 1971, in East Liverpool, the daughter of Barbara (Smoot) Tranter of East Liverpool and the late Dennie Tranter. In addition to her father, Crystal was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Janet Messer. Also preceding her in death were her brother-in-law, Jay Dinch, and her good friend, Dan Williams, both with whom she had a very special relationship.

Crystal graduated from Wellsville High School in 1989. She was currently employed as the office manager for Tax and Accounting Solutions in Chester, WV. With her warm smile and ability to make everyone laugh, Crystal was the epitome of a social butterfly and made a positive impact on everyone she met. Every spare minute she had was spent with her family and friends, making sure each one knew how special they were to her. Crystal had the innate ability to bring people together, and it wasn't long before friends became family. Crystal welcomed her son's friends into their home with open arms and became a second mom to many. Crystal enjoyed playing Bingo and loved to cheer on her son when he played soccer in high school.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Brett Geer, whom she married May 22, 1993; her son, Cody (Ashton) Geer of Leetonia; and her sister, Diane Dinch of Wellsville. Also surviving is Crystal's granddaughter, Emilia Geer, who was her whole world, as well as a loving extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Claudia Britton of the First United Methodist Church in East Liverpool officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 3:00 - 6:00 pm on Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Crystal's chemotherapy nurses: Lisa, Nancy, Shelby, and Beth, as well as the rest of her care team at Summa Health for the love, care, and kindness they showed to Crystal during her treatments. Her nurses quickly became her friends (as if Crystal would have it any other way), and they forged an unbreakable bond during her cancer battle. Crystal would also want every woman to become educated on the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer so that they may quickly seek treatment.
