David A. Groves

WELLSVILLE - David A. Groves, 61, of Wellsville, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at home, following a lengthy Illness.

He was born August 5, 1950, in East Liverpool, a son of the late Clarence M. Flowers and the late Helen (Messenger) Groves.

David graduated from Wellsville High School in 1968 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He worked as a brakeman/conductor for the former Crucible Steel Mill. David was a member of VFW Post 5647, Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 772, and the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife, Rose (Keller) Groves, whom he married March 1, 1969; one daughter: Krystal Mohney and her husband Ray, of Wellsville; one son: Scott Groves, of Wellsville; two brothers: Dallas Groves, of Wellsville, and Dayton Groves, of Phoenix, AZ.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister, Marybell Groves and three brothers, Troxel, Ed, and Daniel Groves.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 11, 2012, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Minister Leonard "Buck" Groves of the Southern Hills Church of Christ in Highlandtown officiating.

Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord full military honors.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
