David Arnold Joy

WELLSVILLE - David Arnold Joy, 82, of Wellsville, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at his home.

He was born August 29, 1934, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Dale and Catherine (Fowler) Joy. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by one sister: Marie Quarterman; and three brothers: Curt Joy, Tom Joy, and Edgar Joy.

Dave graduated from Wellsville High School in 1952. He was employed as a truck driver for General Contracting in Midland, PA. He was a member of the Wellsville VFW Post 5647 and was a member of Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Moore) Joy, whom he married April 28, 1956; three daughters: Diane Johnson and her husband, Skip, of Wellsville, Cathy Reed and her husband, Mike, of Wellsville, and Michelle Joy of Marysville, OH; three sons: David Joy and his wife, Pam, of Wellsville, Frank Joy and his wife, Jane, of Wellsville, and Don Joy and his companion, Gretchen Baldwin, of Wellsville; one sister: Jewel Mason of AL; and six brothers: Jim Joy of East Liverpool, Ray, Ernie, and Fred Joy, all of Wellsville, and Roger and Richard Joy, both of Lisbon. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 15, 2016, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Living Well Church officiating.

Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
