SALEM - Elaine Powell, 78, of Salem, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at Magee-Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born June 15, 1946, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Charles "Brud" and Lucy (Highman) Montgomery. In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her brother, Harry "Pete" Montgomery.

Elaine graduated from Wellsville High School in 1964. She was previously employed as a secretary for the Wellsville Local School District before retiring in 2008. Elaine was a member of the Church at the Center in Salem.

Survivors include her husband, James Powell, whom she married November 27, 2008; her children: Ranee (Joe) McDowell of Saint Leonard, MD and Marc (Kristen) Wicker of Venetia, PA; her step-daughter, Pam (Jake) Mawhinney of Cincinnati, OH; and her sister, Kay (Melissa Miller) Montgomery of Wellsville. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Lucy, Declan, and Theo Wicker, Aidan and Logan McDowell, and Libby and Abby Mawhinney.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Ginter of the church officiating.

Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
