Dolphus "Tobe" Davis, Jr.

WELLSVILLE - Dolphus "Tobe" Davis, Jr., 82, of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

He was born March 10, 1938, in Pittsview, Alabama, the son of the late Dolphus Davis, Sr. and Elizabeth (Jackson) Davis Fitch. In addition to his parents, Dolphus was preceded in death by one sister, Annie Youngblood; one brother, David Davis; and two companions: Rose Palino and Mattie Clark.

Dolphus had worked for the local railroad companies. He was Baptist by faith.

Survivors include two sisters: Virginia Parrish of Jacksonville, FL and Lois Weston of Wellsville; three brothers: Eddie Davis of North Lima, Stewart Davis of Youngstown, and Homer Davis of Jacksonville, FL; his special niece, Melissa Davis, of Akron, whom he though of as his own daughters, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of people in the funeral home at one time will be limited to maintain proper social distancing protocols. Also, in compliance with the orders of Governor Mike DeWine, masks must be properly worn while in the funeral home.

A private family service will be held with Rev. Roosevelt Thompson officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
