Donna McShane Lowe

WELLSVILLE - Donna McShane Lowe, 85, of Parshall Road in Wellsville, passed away at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 18, 2014, at Adkins Care Center following a brief illness.

She was born January 30, 1929, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Dean and Dorothy (Poynter) McShane.

She was preceded in death on September 18, 2010, by her husband, Donald Lowe, whom she married August 4, 1951. In addition to her husband, Donna was preceded in death by her son: Donald A. Lowe II.

Donna attended East Liverpool High School. She worked briefly at the pottery before becoming a homemaker and working behind the scenes to support her husband in his many community and professional endeavors. She was a member of the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and a member of the Eastern Star.

She loved spending time with her family, friends, and loved ones. She spent many hours on the river at the island with lifelong family friends along with her husband, Don. She always found great joy in attending various charitable endeavors with Don around the county and also the many Wellsville School events they supported throughout their lives. Donna loved her sons and their wives dearly, and she held an especially soft spot in her heart for her grandchildren. She felt very blessed to get to spend many great moments with all of them and loved to tell her stories about each of them when company visited.

Donna will be missed by her sons: Edward Lowe and his wife, Maria, of East Liverpool, and Robert Lowe and his wife, Cindy, of Wellsville; her brother: Robert McShane; and her brother-in-law: James Lowe. There are three grandchildren surviving: Frederick, Michael, and Eric Lowe, as well as five step-grandchildren: Chris, Melissa, Shelly, Brandy, and John. Also surviving are thirteen step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 7:00-9:00 pm Monday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
