WELLSVILLE - Doris B. (Wickersham) Smith, 95, of Uniontown, formerly of Wellsville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Altercare of Hartville.

She was born October 16, 1928, in East Rochester, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rosa (Ruff) Wickersham. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death on April 4, 2008, by her husband, Clarence "JD" Smith, whom she married on March 10, 1964 and made her life with in Wellsville. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

Doris graduated from Minerva High School in 1946. She was employed as a selector for twenty-four years at the French Saxon China Company in Sebring and for twenty years at the Sterling China Company in Wellsville before her retirement in 1994. Doris was a member of the American Legion Post 70 Auxiliary, VFW Post 5647 Auxiliary, and the Eagles Aerie 772 Auxiliary. She was a member of the New Alexander Christian Church.

Survivors include her sister, Dorothy (Don) Cooper of Carrollton, OH; her step-daughter, Jean (Terry) Serago and two grandchildren of Phoenix, Arizona; her step-son, Bill (Cindy) Smith of Wellsville; and many loving nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville, with Jacqui Bell officiating. Family and friends may call from 1:00-1:30 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
