WELLSVILLE - Dorothy V. Thomas, 81, of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Calcutta Health Care Center.

She was born November 24, 1942, in Irondale, the daughter of the late Cicero and Dorothy "Olive" (Grimm) Brandle. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death on September 27, 2004, by her husband, William R. Thomas, Sr., whom she married September 13, 1959. She was also preceded in death by her son, John N. Thomas; two sisters: Shelda D'Angelo and Esther Murray; and two brothers: Joe and Leo Brandle.

Dorothy was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Survivors include her son, William "Weebill" (Susan) Thomas, Jr. of Cambridge; two sisters: Yvonne Welch and Melody Minor, both of Wellsville; and one brother, Burdell Brandle of Toronto. Also surviving are four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating. Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Hammondsville Cemetery.
