Edna J. "Jean" Cassidy

SALINEVILLE - Edna J. "Jean" Cassidy, 82, of Salineville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 6, 1938, in Toronto, the daughter of the late Frank E. and Ruth M. (Crawford) Board. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Ann Clutter, and one brother, Richard Board.

Jean was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Her children will always remember her as the "cool mom" and the cornerstone of their family. Her sense of style was to be envied and her hair, and make-up were always perfect. Jean lived to serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Church of God in East Liverpool.

Survivors include her husband, John L. Cassidy, whom she married October 23, 1954; seven children: John D. Cassidy and his wife, Roxanne, of Wooster, Carol Sue Stolirchick and her husband, Daniel, of Salineville, Kathy Grimm and her husband, David, of Salineville, Keith Cassidy of Salineville, Pamela Kelly and her husband, Scott, of Salineville, Michelle Coffman and her husband, Timothy, of Salineville, and Kelly Wetzel and her husband, Scott, of Wellsville; and seven brothers and sisters: Frank Board of Salineville, Harlan (Barbara) Board of Hammondsville, Patsy Zacharias of Wellsville, William R. Board of Irondale, David Board of Irondale, Linda (Roy) Crews of Wellsville, and Sandy (Kenneth) Dorsey of Richmond. Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family service will be held at the Roberts Funeral Home with Assistant Pastor Bob Buck of Everyone's Welcome Church officiating.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
