WELLSVILLE - Edwin Dean "Ed" Mercer, Sr., 71, of Wellsville, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024, at his home.

He was born January 13, 1953, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Clarence "Bert" and Audrey (Rardon) Mercer. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death on April 3, 2016, by his wife, Robbin L. (Brandt) Mercer, whom he married June 22, 1973.

Ed graduated from Wellsville High School in 1971 and was employed as a laborer for Cardinal Pump in Salem. He was also a bricklayer and helped build houses. Ed was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren and granddog, Balor. He had attended Wellsville First Christian Church.

Survivors include his children: Edwin (Brandee Eltringham) Mercer, Jr. of Wellsville and Sara Mercer (Mike) Sinatra of Claysville, PA; five siblings: Shirley Wells of Wellsville, Sally Long of Wellsville, Amy McAdoo of Apollo Beach, FL, Julie Johnston of Wellsville, and Jim Mercer of Wellsville; and three grandchildren: Aubree Eltringham and Brantley and Caleb Mercer  of Wellsville.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Roberts Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
