Elsie R. Lyle

WELLSVILLE - Elsie R. Lyle, 81, of Wellsville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 8, 2016, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born December 9, 1934, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Homer and Hazel (Thomas) Grodhaus. In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by one sister: June Williams; and two brothers: Richard and William Grodhaus.

Elsie graduated from Wellsville High School in 1952. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She attended Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Lyle, whom she married December 31, 1953; three sons: Joe Lyle and his wife, Cindy, of Wellsville, Rodney Lyle and his wife, Debbie, of Wellsville, and Gary Lyle and his wife, Diana, of Wellsville; two sisters: Sally Duck and her husband, Glenn, of Wellsville, and Shirley Plunkett of Wellsville. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Kelsey (Mike) Canonge, Landon Lyle, Lynsey (Brian) Opalenik, Joshua (Elizabeth) Lyle, Shannon (Joseph) Lucas, and Kaitlyn (William) Barcus; and three great-grandchildren: Olivia, Cassie, and Joey.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 12, 2016, at the Roberts Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
