EAST LIVERPOOL - Ernest H. Moore, 83, of East Liverpool died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Calcutta Health Care Center.

He was born January 11, 1930, in Gassaway, WV, the son of the late James and Etta (Jarvis) Moore.

He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Ernest was a member of the Chester American Legion and the East Liverpool V. F. W. Post 66. He had been a mechanic for the former Tad Motors and last worked for Wal Mart in auto repair.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Peg" (Ross) Moore, whom he married March 8, 1954; five daughters: Pennie Cowles and her husband Craig of Plainfield, IN, Lisa Snow of Columbiana, Pam Michael and her husband David of Chester, Lori Duck and her companion Pete Smith of Wellsville, and Jamie Moore and her fiancé Kim Nusser of East Liverpool; and one son: Rick Moore and his wife Nancy of Temple, TX.

Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his daughter: Kathy Abrams; his grandson: Scott Watkins; two sisters: Ruth Proffit and Mildred Boggs; and two brothers: Ralph Moore and Haymond Moore.

The funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville with Kim Gadd of the House of Prayer officiating.

Friends may call from 4:00-6:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
