HAMMONDSVILLE - Ernest L. "Bud" Rose, Jr., 92, of Hammondsville, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024, at his home.

He was born December 27, 1931, in Hammondsville, the son of the late Ethel (Whitaker) and  Ernest  L. Rose, Sr. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death on August 26, 2018, by his wife, Shirley May (DeBomie) Rose, whom he married December 21, 1988. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Martha Sprague and Freda Householder.

After graduating from high school, Bud served for two years in the United States military, He was previously employed as a school bus driver in Jefferson County and had retired from the Jefferson County Garage. Bud also operated his own dairy farm.

Bud is survived by many friends, including Levi Kerner and Julia Coleman of Hammondsville, and his daughter-in-law, Sharon Casher of Malvern.

A private memorial service will be held when he is buried with Shirley in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with Bud's arrangements.
