Ethel F. Tanley

IRONDALE - Ethel F. Tanley, 81, of Irondale, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at her daughter's home surrounded by her family.

She was born December 21, 1937, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Charles and Pauline (Knox) Rearley. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death on February 11, 2009, by her husband, Clinton Tanley, whom she married November 5, 1958. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Lois Mount; and four brothers: Charles Rearley, Jr., John Rearley, James Rearley, and Gary Rearley.

Ethel was employed for twenty-seven years as a utility girl for Homer Laughlin China Company before retiring in 2003.

Survivors include three daughters: Rebecca Locke and her companion, John Henry, of Sterling, OH, Pauline Wise and her husband, Ernie, of Chester, WV, and Connie Carpenter and her husband, Roger, of Irondale; four sons: Robert Tanley and his wife, Connie, of Irondale, James Tanley and his wife, Sally, of Irondale, Richard Tanley and his companion, Tammy Kent, of Wellsville, and Clinton D. Tanley and his wife, Kelly K. Tanley, of Toronto; and one sister, Susan Buckle of East Liverpool. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 27, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Crowe of the Irondale United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
