Evelyn L. Rose

SALEM - Evelyn L. Rose, 88, formerly of Highlandtown, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Sterling House in Salem.

She was born July 13, 1923, in Highlandtown (Wayne Township), a daughter of the late Thomas Ross and Olive (Williams) Hays.

Evelyn worked as cook and a bus driver for 20 years in the Southern Local School District, before retiring in 1988. She was a 1941 graduate of David Anderson High School in Lisbon.

Evelyn was a member of the Bethel United Presbyterian Church and was active in the CO and M Sunday School Class, their Missionary Society, and was a life member of the Highlandtown Grange.

Survivors include two daughters: Kathy Clapsadle and her husband Jan, of Salineville and Susan Frischkorn and her husband Glenn, of Wellsville; one son: Kenneth Rose and his wife Paula, of Highlandtown; one brother: Everett Hays and his wife Janet, of Sebring, OH; a sister-in-law Jean Hays, of Salineville; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 5 Step Great Grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Rose, on October 6, 2003, whom she married September 18, 1942; a son, Richard Rose; a granddaughter, Heidi Frischkorn; and two brothers, Donald Hays and Wilbur Hays.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Bethel United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ted Ludwig officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Salineville.

Friends may call from 4-8 pm today, Monday, April 23, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville, and one hour before the funeral service on Tuesday, at the church.
