Garnet O. Blaschak

EAST LIVERPOOL - Garnet O. Blaschak, 88, of East Liverpool, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at Nentwick Care Center.

She was born May 31, 1925, in Irondale, the daughter of the late Hezekiah and Cora (Tackett) Hackney.

Garnet graduated from Irondale High School. She was a member of the former Church of God House of Prayer in Irondale and Aglow Ministries. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Survivors include two daughters: Barbara Raffle-Morgan of East Springfield, OH, and Patricia Russell of Stratton; two sons: Jerry Blaschak and his wife, Joanna, of East Liverpool, and Jim Blaschak and his wife, Carole, of East Liverpool; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three great- great-grandchildren. Garnet is also survived by her loving friend: Jerry Blaschak, Sr.

In addition to her parents, Garnet was preceded in death by her first husband: Homer Johnson; her son: John Johnson; her grandson; five sisters: Dorothy, Clara, Emily, Lucille, and Marjorie; and three brothers: Henry, Howard, and Charles.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 7, 2014, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Living Well Church officiating.

Burial will be in Highlandtown Cemetery.
