George M. McGinness, Jr.

EAST LIVERPOOL - George M. McGinness, Jr., 74, of East Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Calcutta Health Care Center.

He was born October 31, 1947, in Salem, the son of the late Lois (Oliver) Barr and George M. McGinness, Sr. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by one grandson, Aron Cline; one sister, MaryLynn McGinness; and one half-brother, Pete Barr.

George served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. He was previously employed as a truck driver and then worked at Advanced Auto. George loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing cards and being a taxi driver for his grandkids.

Survivors include his daughter, Sherry (Joe) Cline of East Liverpool; his son, George M. McGinness III of East Palestine; his sister, Kathy Howell of East Palestine; two half-sisters: Brenda Barr and Lois Barr; and two half-brothers: Larry Barr and Scott Barr. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Tiffany Ingram, Robin Kolm, and Jacob Cline; and three great-grandchildren: Rylie, J. Jay, and Jase Ingram.

According to George's wishes, no services will be held. Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with his arrangements.
