Geraldine Sue "Gerry" Pasquale

HAMPSTEAD, NC - Geraldine Sue "Gerry" Pasquale, 79, of Hampstead, NC, died Monday, July 27, 2015, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in the care of Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter in Wilmington, NC.

She was born August 2, 1935, in East Liverpool, OH, the daughter of the late Ellsworth F. and Zelma (Davis) Holman. In addition to her parents, Gerry was preceded in death on May 2, 2004, by her husband of forty-nine years, Chester Pasquale, whom she married June 25, 1955. She was also predeceased by her sister of three months, Delores Emmajean Holman, and her son of fifty-eight years, Frederick A. Pasquale.

Gerry graduated from East Liverpool High School and became a teacher later in life after raising her son and receiving her Master's Degree from Kent State University. She began teaching elementary school children in Wellsville and went on to teach at Beaver Local. She loved all of her students, and they loved her. First and foremost, Gerry loved her family and friends. Her passion was quilting. She made quilts for everyone which were all sewn by hand. Due to her health issues, Gerry moved to North Carolina in the spring of 2014 to be with her son. She loved her wonderful and caring neighbors in Calcutta, which made her decision to move to North Carolina even more difficult. Gerry was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church.

Survivors include her extended family: daughter-in-law: Margaret Pasquale of Hampstead, NC; sister-in-law: Rosemary (Mike) Mouse of Canal Fulton, OH; and five brothers-in-law: Benjamin (Mino) Pasquale of Fairfax, VA, Ralph (Faye) Pasquale of North Canton, OH, Michael and Victor Pasquale, both of Massillon, OH, and John (Alana) Pasquale of North Canton, OH. Gerry is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends, including the devoted Pat Blakeley, Jean Pugh, Carole Woods and Carol Willis.

A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius with the Rev. Steve Wassie presiding.

Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9:30-11:00 am Tuesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
