Geraldine A. Shields

LISBON - Geraldine A. Broughton Shields, 84, daughter of the late Oliver and Theda (Hale) Broughton, sister of the late Stella Haustman and the late James Broughton, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021, at East Liverpool City Hospital. She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, William H. Shields of Lisbon; sister-in-law, Sarah Broughton; and two daughters: Penny (Shields) and her husband, Dan Blaschak, of Knoxville, OH, and Kathie (Shields) and her husband, Douglas Barnhart, of Wellsville. Also surviving are five adored and loving grandchildren: Shane and Trachele Barnhart of Wellsville, Damien and Elizabeth Saracco of Wellsville, Aubrianna and Bill McGonigal of East Liverpool, Devonie Saracco of Wellsville, and Ryan Blaschak of Knoxville, OH; and seven cherished and precious great-grandchildren: Kendell, Mariah, Gage, Alanna Rae, Ryker, Owen, and Alaska.

A 1954 graduate of Wellsville High School, Geraldine also graduated with honors from the Lewis School of Cosmetology. She retired from Italo's Pizza in Glenmoor. Geraldine was Christian by faith and was the choir director for the Young Messengers of Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church.

Geraldine was an avid reader and loved to shop, but her greatest treasure was being with her family. Her favorite saying was "I'm not done making memories yet."

Family and friends may call from 2:00 - 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face masks must be worn properly while in the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm on Sunday with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
