Gladys I. Payne

WELLSVILLE - Gladys I. Payne, 91, of Wellsville died Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Nentwick Convalescent Home.

She was born January 13, 1923, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late George and Gabrilla (Wise) Payne.

Gladys graduated from Wellsville High School and was a sales clerk for the former Ogilvies Department Store for over forty years. She was a member of Mt. Sinai FBH Church where she served as superintendent of the Sunday School, church clerk, Deaconess, and on the trustee board.

Survivors include one sister: Gabrilla "Gay" Duncan of Coraopolis, PA; her grandson: Todd Duncan and his wife, Leah, of Pittsburgh, PA; three great-granddaughters: Lonelle, Lorraine, and Tirzah Duncan; and one great-grandson: Marques Duncan.

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her daughter: Cheryl Payne, her sister: Elta; and two brothers: George and James Payne.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the Mt. Sinai FBH Church with Reverend Darlene Zanders officiating.

Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
