WELLSVILLE - Grace Marie Gullace, 102, entered the promise of eternal life on May 22, 2024.

Grace was born November 15, 1921, in Atwater, OH to Girolomo and Angeline

(Pronesti) Gullace, who had immigrated from Italy in the early 1900's. Her family moved

to Wellsville where Grace graduated from high school.

Growing up in Wellsville, Grace loved going to Rock Springs Park to enjoy live music on

Sunday nights with her siblings. She loved to dance, especially the jitterbug! She and

her sister would spend many a Saturday night dancing at the SOI or Waterford Park. Of

late, she would never pass up an opportunity to go to the casino and never missed a

Bingo game!

Most would always remember Grace as the happy lady that worked her entire

productive life at McCrory's 5&10 in East Liverpool. Not having a driver's license,

Grace would ride the bus every day but Sunday from Wellsville to Liverpool. Her nieces

and nephews would anxiously "wait for the bus" to come down Main Street at 5:30 to

drop off Aunt Grace. Never would she come home from work empty handed. If she

knew they were at her house, there was always a treat from the 5&10…. maybe a comic

book, Jacks, or a piece of penny candy.

Grace was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She never left home and lived

most of her life on Center Street with her mother and 2 brothers. Grace remained in her

home, alone, until months before her 99th birthday. She moved to Calcutta Health Care

Center where she continued to spread her loving, joyful spirit. Grace took part in every

social activity offered, especially enjoying the live music performances and happy hour!

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the nursing staff and the

therapy department for loving our Aunt Grace as much as we do! She could not have

been surrounded by a more loving "family".

"Aunt Grace" truly embodied a happy-go-lucky nature in all that she did. She made time

for everyone…always, and truly never complained. Her endless love for her family

created the type of childhood memories that will be cherished forever by other

generations…the smell of her spaghetti sauce when you walked in the door every

Sunday after church, the endless books that she never tired of reading to you, the treat

she would always buy when you went shopping, the games she was always willing to

play, and the endless hugs.

Thanks for teaching us how to live to love, and how to love to live Aunt Grace…we love

you "more".

In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her four brothers, Tony,

Dominic, Johnny, and Vincent Gullace, and her sister Stella Georgalas. She leaves

behind 7 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews, 31 great-great nieces

and nephews and 3 great-great-great nieces and nephews.

A Commemoration Service celebrated by Rev. Leo Wehrlin of Holy Trinity Parish will be

held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street

in Wellsville. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
