SEBRING - Gretchen N. Baldwin, 77, of Sebring, formerly of Wellsville, died Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Salem Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 15, 1938, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late R. Hugh and Rhea M. (Miller) Nile.

Gretchen graduated from Wellsville High School in 1956 and attended Mt. Union College. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Youngstown State University. Gretchen taught elementary education at East Liverpool Schools for several years. She then taught at Fairview Elementary School in Wellsville before becoming Wellsville High School's guidance counselor, retiring in 2000 after 42 years of service in education.. Gretchen was a member of Alpha Z Delta Sorority and was past president of Delta Kapa Gamma Sorority.

Survivors include her husband, David A. Baldwin, whom she married December 23, 1957; one daughter: Gretchen Baldwin of Wellsville; two sisters: Rhea Brown of Palm Harbor, FL and Leah Nile of Magnolia, TX; and one brother: Hugh Nile, Jr. of Calcutta. Also surviving are four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Gretchen was preceded in death by her son, David Allen Baldwin.

The funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Edwards of St. John Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-6:00 pm Wednesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
