IRONDALE - Hazel "Darlene" Anderson, 80, of Irondale, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Trinity West in Steubenville.

She was born December 30, 1943, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Edward Grimes and the late Nettie (Farnsworth) and Raymond Thompson. Darlene was also preceded in death by her husband, Junior D. "Pete" Anderson, whom she married December 30, 1965; her biological mom, Hazel J. Morrison; her sister, Barbara Farnsworth; and her grandson, Sean O'Conner.

Darlene graduated from Wellsville High School in 1962. She was previously employed at Cardinal Stone and retired in 2016 from Giant Eagle where she was a baker and cake decorator. Darlene was a member of Grace Baptist Temple where she was a Sunday school teacher, cooked for the Jolly 60s, and was a member of the choir. She enjoyed reading and had a love for cookbooks and recipes that she frequently shared with her family.

Survivors include her children: Edward (Cindy) Anderson of East Palestine, Kellie (Rick Mullenax) Allen of Cortland, Thomas (Melissa) Anderson of East Liverpool, and Dale (Amanda) Anderson of Wellsville; her brother whom she raised, Marvin (Laurie) Morrison of Waynesburg, OH; and one sister, Sue Lightfoot of Tennessee. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren and forty-one great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Cox officiating.

Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 1:00 - 3:00 PM and 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
