Howard Eugene Williamson

Howard Eugene "Gene" Williamson, 83, of Wellsville, OH, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015. The son of Howard Ralph Williamson and Alice May Wilson/Boswell, he was born June 22, 1932, in Carrollton, Ohio. Gene was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He had two siblings, Alice May Williamson and William Ralph Williamson. He lived most of his life in Wellsville.

Gene married Patricia Sondra "Pat" Reed on October 9, 1955. Pat passed away on July 16, 2004. Together they had five children: Robert Eugene "Geno" Williamson of Miller Place, NY, Jodie Lynn Williamson of Alexandria, VA, Hazel Faye Blanche Williamson Lombardozzi of Wellsville, Jacqueline "Jackie" Williamson of Wellsville, and Charles "Chuckie" Hamilton Williamson, who passed away November 20, 1993. Gene is also survived by seven grandchildren: Joseph Williamson of Endwell, NY, the son of Faye Williamson Lombardozzi, Shauna DeSenze Pullie of Wellsville, who is married to Greg Pullie, and is the daughter of Jackie Williamson and Peter DeSenze, Traci Desenze of Wellsville, the daughter of Jackie Williamson and Peter DeSenze, Ashley Shank of Wellsville, the daughter of Faye Williamson Lombardozzi and Ken Shank, and Brian Williamson, Robert Williamson, and Bradley Williamson, all of Miller Place, NY, the sons of Geno and Kathy Williamson; and six great-grandchildren: Brycen Douglas, Elijah Douglas, and Natalia Douglas, all of Wellsville, the children of Traci DeSenze, Colton Carter of Wellsville, the son of Shauna DeSenze Pullie, and Jacob Williamson and Bella Williamson, of Endwell, NY, the children of Joseph and Jessica Williamson.

Gene was a Korean War Veteran and served on the Battleship USS Missouri BB-63.

He graduated from Wellsville High School in 1975 after earning his GED. He worked many years at the former Crucible Steel Mill and was also the maintenance director for a 750 unit high rise apartment complex in Alexandria, VA, before retiring in 1997.

A memorial service and full military honors accorded by the Tri-State Burial Group will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, November 27, 2015, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville. Friends may call at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Riverside Roadhouse in Wellsville.
