Jack A. Smith

WELLSVILLE - Jack A. Smith, 81, of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, PA.

He was born February 8, 1934, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Faye (Headley) and Clyde C. Smith, Sr. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death in 1954 by his daughter, Deborah Lee Smith, his grandson, Jack Smith III, and three brothers: Gary M. Smith, Glen A. Smith, and Thomas B. Smith.

Jack was employed for twenty-four years a superintendent for Union Boiler Company before retiring in 1996 and was a fifty year member of Local 809 Laborer's Union. He attended Wellsville First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Garnet (Mayfield) Smith, whom he married June 12, 1953; two daughters: Jill Smith of East Liverpool, and Susie Carr and her husband, Doug, of Wellsville; one son: Jack Smith and his wife, Kim, of Scott Depot, WV; three sisters: Gypsy Winland, Sharon Halfhill, and Linda (Paul) Welch, all of Wellsville; and four brothers: Donald L. (Wilma) Smith of Salineville, Larry K. (Sandy) Smith of Wellsville, Darrell B. (Vickie) Smith of Wellsville, and Clyde C. (Fran) Smith, Jr. of Wellsville. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Steve Yanni, Heidi Bourne, Doug Carr, Dustin Carr, Tyler Smith, and Gage Ramos; five great-grandchildren: Braylen, Macie, Dani, Aydin, and Cheyann; as well we three sisters-in-law: Janet Smith, Betty Smith, and Patty DiCioccio.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main Street, with Pastor Mark Blakeley officiating.

Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
