Jacob R. "Jake" Nicholson

WELLSVILLE - Jacob R. "Jake" Nicholson, 66, of Wellsville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 1, 2022.

He was born December 27, 1955, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Harold "Jake" and Sally (Wellington) Nicholson.

Jake graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1974. He was employed as a laborer for Columbia Gas until his retirement. Jake loved to go fishing, enjoyed gambling with his wife, and would gladly eat at any available buffet. Above all else, he was an encouraging and active grandfather who enjoyed watching his grandkids at their sporting events. Jake was Mr. Fix-It and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed help without expecting anything in return. He touched many lives during his short time on Earth and will be deeply missed by his family, large extended family and many friends.

Survivors include his loving wife and best friend, Candace "Candy" (McGeehan) Nicholson, whom he married September 30, 1977; two fantastic children: Brooke (Seth) Birch of East Liverpool and Jake (Lauren) Nicholson II of Rootstown, OH; four siblings: Janet (Jerry) Barnes of East Liverpool, Lisa (Ross) Lentini of East Liverpool, Pat (Daniel) Wallace of Ozark, AL, and Michael (Charlie Milton) Nicholson of East Liverpool; two sisters-in-law: Nan Smith and Jan Sayre; one brother-in-law, Timothy (Tammy) McGeehan; one uncle, Joseph (Mary) Bucher; one aunt, Nancy (Ron) Dailey; and Debbie Nicholson. Also surviving are three wonderful grandchildren: Alexa and Nicholas Aldrich and Giovanni Birch. Jake also leaves behind many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is now in Heaven with his beloved fur baby, Baron.

According to Jake's wishes, no services will be held.

Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with his arrangements.
