James O. Broughton

WELLSVILLE - James O. Broughton, 74, of Wellsville, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at home, following a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.

He was born August 26, 1942, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Oliver and Theda B. (Hale) Broughton.

Jim was a dragline operator for the former Lafarge Sand and Gravel Company. Previously he had worked for McLain/H. K. Porter Brickyard and Sterling China Company.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Lynn (Buchner) Broughton, whom he married June 29, 1963; one daughter: Gretchen Boley and her husband, Paul, of Wellsville; two sons: Michael Broughton and his wife, Pamela, of Killeen, TX and Mark Broughton and his wife, Kelly, of Wellsville; and one sister: Geraldine Shields and her husband, William, of Wellsville. Also surviving are six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Stella Haustman.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Living Well Church officiating.

Friends may call on Thursday, December 1, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
