James Anthony "Jimmy" Roberts

WELLSVILLE - James Anthony "Jimmy" Roberts, 66, of Wellsville, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020, at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh due to complications from the COVID-19 virus.

He was born May 1, 1954, in East Liverpool, the son of the late James F. and Laura (Rouse) Roberts.

Jimmy graduated from Wellsville High School in 1972. He was employed in the receiving department for Trinity Medical Center before his retirement in 2019. Jimmy was an avid motorcyclist, and he and his wife, Cindy, loved to travel on his bike. He also enjoyed spending time in nature hunting and fishing. Above all else, Jimmy loved spending time with his grandchildren and cherished the memories he made with them. He was Catholic by faith.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy (Potts) Roberts, whom he married April 3, 1979; one daughter, Stacey DeSarro and her husband, Michael, of Boardman; two sons: Jason Roberts and his wife, Meghan, of East Liverpool, and Shawn Baker and his wife, Angie, of Lisbon; and one sister, Sherry Jackson and her husband, James, of Steubenville. Also surviving are nine grandchildren who were the light of his life: Ashley (Tyler), Tyler, Colby, Lucas, Emma, Peyton, Carter, Kennedy, and Lincoln.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family service will be held at the Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville with John Mehaffey officiating.

Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
