IRONDALE - Janet M. Brown, 73, of Irondale, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at Weirton Medical Center.

She was born August 5, 1952, in Hammondsville, the daughter of the late Thomas and Violet (Owen) Oliver. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death on June 30, 2011, by her husband, Richard Calvin Brown, whom she married October 6, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Johnny, Jim, Terry, and William Huber; and her beloved dog, Sparky.

Janet graduated from Stanton Local High School and was employed for many years as the secretary for Kentak. Janet enjoyed watching and feeding the wildlife, especially the birds, deer, and squirrels. She also enjoyed talking about her family and reminiscing about old times. Janet was also an avid fan of game shows.

Survivors include her sisters: Linda (Roger) McLain of Hammondsville, Barbara (Joe) Neiderhuber of Weirton, Wilda Milhoan of New Martinsville, Carol (Ray) Bourdeau of Maryland, and Karen (Greg) Summers of New Martinsville; the son she never had, Howard Bott of Salineville; and three step-daughters: Tabitha, Cheryl, and Angie.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville. Pastor Colleen Thornhill of the Hammondsville Church will officiate. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Hammondsville Cemetery.
