Janet M. Shafer

LISBON - Janet Marie Shafer, 56, of Lisbon, died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Allegheny General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born January 8, 1959, in East Liverpool, the daughter of Helen (Pringe) Clutter of West Point and the late Charles Clutter. Janet lived all her life close to her parents in the West Point area.

Janet graduated from Beaver Local High School in 1976. She was employed for fourteen years as a machine operator for Bayley Envelope. Janet was a member of Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church. She loved doing yard work and was an animal lover.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Thomas Shafer, whom she married May 6, 1978; two sons: Charles Shafer (Ashlie Gibson) and Andrew Shafer (Jessica Baker), both of West Point; one step-son: Thomas Shafer of FL; and two grandsons: Talon Strickland and Christian Shafer. Also surviving are her brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Cliff and Patty McCoy; and her sister-in-law: Sally Williams of NC.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Offerdahl of the church officiating.

Burial will follow in Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
