WELLSVILLE – Jason Osborne Jones, known as "Jake" or "Jonzi," passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, January 20, 2026, surrounded by family and friends, listening to some of his favorite music. At 33 years old, Jake's departure follows a courageous, over 16 year journey with brain cancer that he faced with a smile and a sense of humor.

Born December 13, 1992, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Jake was the son of Michelle (Britton) and Harry Davis of East Liverpool. A 2011 graduate of East Liverpool High School, he lived with a restless curiosity and a hunger for life.

Jake was someone who truly loved to learn and create. Whether he was focused on 3D printing, tattooing, playing chess, or gaming, he always had a project or a new interest in motion. He was just as much at home in the woods hunting for mushrooms, fishing at the river and lakes or trying to skateboard as he was in the garden or the kitchen. From growing different plants to experimenting with winemaking and cooking crab rangoon and sushi with his family, he found joy in everything he did.

More than anything, he lived for the simple joy of being together. He was at his happiest during back-yard fires, cooking out, or on a new adventure. Whether drinking with friends or simply hanging out at home, his unique personality made him the heart of every gathering.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Merriman, and his brother, Samuel Scanlon.

He is survived by his "person / ole lady" since 9th grade, Katelyn Wright, and their four children: Maia (14), Phoenix (12), Autumn (10), and Jocelyn (7). He is also survived by his parents, Michelle and Harry Davis; and his siblings: Destiny Allen, Jedidiah Wilson, Gabriel Hughes, and John Burch; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Jake's wishes, no immediate services will be held. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
