Jay R. Kidder

WELLSVILLE - Jay R. Kidder, 50, of Wellsville, died Friday, March 23, 2012, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born November 16, 1961, in Steubenville, the son of Helen (Catlett) Kidder of Wellsville and the late Raymond Kidder.

Jay graduated from Wellsville High School in 1980 and had worked in the construction business in Virginia. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Toronto as well as a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 772. Jay was one of the first double transplant (pancreas and kidney) patients at U.P.M.C. in Pittsburgh, Pa. Organ donation was an important factor in his life.

In addition to his mother, Jay is survived by his sister: Saundra Tiedemann and her husband Donald of Brownsburg, Indiana, and his brother: Spencer Kidder of Wellsville. Six nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 26 at the Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. Michael E. Bongart of the church officiating.

Friends may call from 12:00-2:00pm & 4:00-6:00pm Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Jay's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd. Suite 445, Independence, Ohio, 44131, or to the First Presbyterian Church, 116 North Third Street, Toronto, Ohio, 43964.
