WELLSVILLE - Jean Vallera, 89, of Wellsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Calcutta Health Care Center.

She was born October 14, 1936, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Hermon and Gladys (Hendricks) Heiney. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son, James Vallera, and granddaughter, Krista Vallera.

Jean graduated from Wellsville High School in 1954. She had a diverse employment history and held a wide range of job titles. She was most recently employed as an agent in child protective services for Broward County Sheriff's Office. She was a member of Wellsville First Christian Church. Jean loved dancing and was affectionately known as "Jean Jean the Dancing Machine", and she also enjoyed Bingo, but only when she was winning. Everyone should strive to live life the way Jean did - full of laughter and fun, surrounded by loved ones.

Survivors include her sons: Steve Vallera of Wellsville, Jeff Vallera of East Liverpool, and David (Brandee) Vallera of Wellsville; sister, Kaye (John) Yanni of Chino, CA; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the church officiating.

Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit from 2:00 - 5:00 pm on Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
