Jerald William Swartzmiller

WELLSVILLE - Jerald William Swartzmiller, 74, of St. Rt. 39, Wellsville, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Adkins Care Center in East Liverpool.

He was born March 28, 1938, in Sistersville, W.Va., a son of the late Julian Rome and Hattie Kathleen (Phillips) Swartzmiller.

Jerald was a 1956 graduate of Wellsville High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He retired as a Locksmith from the Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Jerold served as an Elder at Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church and played in their Men's Softball League.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death on February 15, 2008 by his wife, Marcia J. (Anderson) Swartzmiller, whom he married on October 11, 1963.

Survivors include one daughter: Stacie French and her husband Denny, of Calcutta; one son: USAF Major, Justin W. Swartzmiller and his wife Cecelia, of Dayton, Ohio.; four grandchildren: Kali and Samuel Oaks, of Calcutta, and Keilani and Kaeo Swartzmiller of Dayton, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 18th, at the Roberts Funeral Home, with Pastor Derek Marotta, of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, where the Tri State Veterans Burial Group will accord military honors.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home, 631 Main St., Wellsville.
