HAMMONDSVILLE - Jo Ann (Hissam) Wilson, 90, of Hammondsville, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Valley Hospice in the Trinity West Medical Center in Steubenville.

She was born March 7, 1936, in Martins Ferry, the daughter of the late Donald L. and Dorothy M. (Davis) Hissam. In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death on March 12, 2018, by her husband, Charles L. "Chuck" Wilson, whom she married September 17, 1956. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Karen Plimpton and Carol Williams.

Having grown up in Chester, WV, Jo Ann graduated from Chester High School in 1954. She obtained her nurse's training through East Liverpool City Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse at various local healthcare facilities. Jo Ann enjoyed crocheting gifts (scrubbies) and making cards for her children and grandchildren for birthdays and holidays. She was a member of Hammondsville Church.

Survivors include her children: Michael (Billie) Wilson of Stratton, Donald (Sharon) Wilson of Irondale, Steven (Tracy) Wilson of Hammondsville, Clark Wilson of Knoxville, and Carolyn Westfall of New Somerset; and her siblings: Donna Lee of Chester, Jerry (Joan) Hissam of Hot Springs, AR, Linda (Dan) Allen of East Liverpool, John (Cheryl) Hissam of Chester, and Robert (Connie) Hissam of Chester. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored.

A memorial service celebrating Jo Ann's life will be held at 4:30 pm on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the Hammondsville Church. Friends and family will be received at the Church from 2:00 PM till time of service. All are invited for fellowship at the Saline Township Complex following the service.

Burial will be in Hammondsville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with Jo Ann's arrangements.
