Joan Downard

WELLSVILLE - Joan Downard, 83, of Wellsville, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born January 7, 1933, in Wellsville, the youngest and last surviving child of the late Laird and Inez (Bolvin) Campbell.

Joan graduated from Wellsville High School in 1951. She was a homemaker, and first and foremost, she loved her husband, family, and the Cleveland Indians. She was a member of Bethel United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Downard, whom she married July 28, 1951; one daughter: Barb Collett and her husband, Brent, of Youngstown; and two sons: Keith Downard and his wife, Tina, of Canfield, and Andy Downard and his wife, Denise, of Paris, OH. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Mike and Belinda Buchanan of Berlin Center, OH, and Chrissy and Jim Cvetkovic of Canfield; and one great-granddaughter: Reagan Cvetkovic of Canfield.

A private memorial service was held Tuesday at Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial tributes be made in Joan's name to Community Hospice 2341 E. State Street Unit B, Salem, Ohio 44460. The family wishes to thank the loving staff at Community Hospice for their compassionate care.
