JoAnn E. VanDyke

WELLSVILLE - JoAnn E. VanDyke, 84, of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Calcutta Health Care Center.

She was born September 17, 1936, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Oscar and Margaret (Clutter) VanDyke. In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Don Hutchison; and her half-brother, Carl VanDyke.

JoAnn graduated from Wellsville High School in 1954, and she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Muskingum College in 1958. She was employed for thirty-three years as a second grade teacher in the Wellsville Public School System before her retirement in 1991. JoAnn was an active member of her community. She was a member of the Wellsville Arts Club, Columbiana County Retired Teachers, Crystal Chapter of the Eastern Stars, East Liverpool Chapter Beta Beta of the Alpha Delta Kappa, and the Aglow Light House Chapter of East Liverpool. She was a member of Wellsville First Christian Church.

Survivors include one niece, Debbie Cataldo of Wellsville; one great-nephew, Jeff Campbell of Omaha, NE; two great-nieces: Amy and Justin Pavka of Omaha, NE and Andrea Campbell of Arizona; and six great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews: Hailey and Jack Campbell, Robert, Angel, and Madison Pavka, and Keegan Campbell. Also surviving are family friends, John and Heidi McIntosh.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 23, 2021, at the Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main Street in Wellsville with Pastor Mark Blakeley officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00-7:00 pm on Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
