John O. Madden

WELLSVILLE - John O. Madden, 65, of Wellsville, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016, at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian Hospital.

He was born February 6, 1950, in East Liverpool, the son of the late William and Hilda (Baker) Madden. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers: William "Chick" and Ernest Madden.

John served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was employed for most of his life as a deck hand for Wellsville Terminals before retiring in 2011.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie (Rice) Madden, whom he married August 17, 1970; one daughter: Jennine Baker of Wellsville; three sons: Ashley Madden and his wife, Betty, of Lisbon, Keven Madden and his wife, Tracy, of Wellsville, and John Madden, Jr. and his wife, Melissa, of Lisbon; two sisters: Sherry Wright and Karen Madden, both of Wellsville; and three brothers: Jerry Madden of Newell, Jim Madden of Minerva, and Jack Madden of Columbiana. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 15, 2016, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.
